Welcome to the 4th Annual Brooklyn Bluegrass Festival in Legion Park!!

This is an outdoor, old fashioned bluegrass festival, sponsored by the Village of Brooklyn, with rough camping in our beautiful 15 acre Legion Park. The Festival is located in Brooklyn, Wisconsin, a short 20 minute drive south of Madison’s beltline on Hwy 14 and 2 miles west on Hwy 92. more info>>

BANDS

On Friday evening, June 6th at 7:00 pm, Jefferson County, our host band, will open the Festival with their solid traditional bluegrass sound. Following Jefferson County, The Henhouse Prowlers from Chicago will headline the evening. Beginning at 10 am on Saturday morning, June 7th, there will be 2 instrumental workshops with an open mike at 11 am. The bluegrass submersion begins at 1 pm, with 7 bands playing 50 minute sets until 8 pm, when Tangled Roots, from Minneapolis, tops off this Festival with their breathtaking technique and harmony. We believe we have brought together a Festival that will please even the folks who aren’t so sure about liking bluegrass. Jamming is available throughout the park, throughout the Festival for all learners. band info>>

REFRESHMENTS, CAMPING AND TICKET INFO

This event, like last year, provides our local organizations and churches an opportunity to raise funds by providing delicious, homemade food, beverages and beer for the event. The Lions Club will also serve an American beer and our own New Glarus microbrew, Spotted Cow. We will again have rough camping (no hookups) in the Park, both Friday and Saturday nights, with campfires (wood provided) to encourage informal jam sessions or just a chance to meet some great people. The Festival will also be handicapped accessible. vendor info>>

Tickets are: $10 Friday eve; $20 all Saturday; $25 both days; 12 yrs and under, no charge; and $7/night camping. This is one of the greatest music “deals” and we hope you take advantage of this great live bluegrass music opportunity. We are trying to keep the ticket prices low to make this music affordable to a greater audience. camping info>>

WEATHER

Last year, we learned that we needed a really big tent to keep the stage and fans sheltered from thunderstorms, rain, and sweltering sun. This year, rain or shine, our Festival will take place under a 40X100 foot tent (canopy)—regardless.

Come to the Festival—we know you will have a good time! Many of you are waiting to come back and we will be glad to see you. more info>>
